Here are some online resources members started at our January 2021 virtual meeting:

The Wooly Mason Jar Dyeing — Lucy Richard: In addition to her formula system there are good reviews of the color wheel and other areas relative to dyeing in general. Great for learning about microwave dyeing. She takes the mystery out of dyeing!

Ribbon Candy Rug Hooking — Deane David Lissenberg: she offers a live coffee chat on YouTube at 11:30 AM on Monday through Thursday.

Cindi Gay Rug Hooking — She offers a lot of tips and techniques, some free and classes that require some payment.

Contemporary Rug Hooking on FaceBook — Lots of people post their rugs; Martina Lesar of Ontario, Canada hosts this site. There are about 5,000 members.

Out of Hand Rug Hooking on Facebook — Another great group for sharing rugs. This one leans to more traditional rugs. Lori Brechlin of Notforgotten Farm hosts this site with more than 6,500 members.

A Lady of the Club on FaceBook — Lynne Gill, a Canadian rug hooker, hosts this site of almost 3,000 members.

Friends of Mayflower Guild on Facebook — Mayflower group for posting rugs and staying in touch between meetings. Tina started this group during the Covid pandemic to help members keep in touch while we couldn’t meet in person.

Ania Creative Designs on Facebook — Ania Knap (Mayflower member) posts on classes and her blog, My Mother’s a Hooker, where she discusses various tips for hooking and dyeing, as well as posts on her approach to designing and hooking her rugs.

Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio — She has numerous programs and classes, some of which are free. She offers a Thursday live Facebook chat which can be fun.

W. Cushing & Co. — Lisanne Miller offers online classes, some of which are free.

Fluff & Peachy Bean Designs — Nancy Jewett offers hand dyed wools and lots of patterns. She also lists sites for upcoming shows.

The Old Tattered Flag — offering traditional rug designs

Parris House Wool Works — Maine shop doing online classes during Covid.

Hooked in the Mountains — Members of the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild and online rug show.

Ontario Hooking Craft Guild — Canadian group, requiring $40 annual fee.

Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia — Canadian group with members from Canada, the US, and other countries. There are currently over 500 members. $35 annual fee.

Laura Kenney Rugs— very interesting design approach; her work is quite distinctive!
